10th Annual Buffalo Fish Festival Celebrates
African-American Contributions to the Catfish Industry &
Honors Belzoni Native Denise LaSalle
(Belzoni, Mississippi) - The 10th Annual African-American Heritage BUFFALO FISH FESTIVAL will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Belzoni, Mississippi. The festival will feature Mississippi Delta blues artists Mississippi Slim and Jerry Fair. Also, in concert will be accomplished Mississippi Delta Jazz Pianist and Trumpeter Ron Myers, local music groups, choirs and gospel groups. The festival honors the contributions of African-American workers to the Catfish Industry and Belzoni native, “Queen of Soul Blues” Denise LaSalle.
A Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Workshop will be conducted during a Health Fair from 11:00am-12:00noon. The festival begins at 9:00am and ends at 7:00pm.
